Hunting for Houses...No Guns Allowed

It has been an interesting few weeks. From basement flood, to the beginning of house hunting, to inheriting a house guest, to losing a house guest...

As of yesterday we have viewed a total of 4 homes. One was a COMPLETE nightmare...one was okay...one I had high hopes for but was disappointed (who designed that thing?)...and the last one was just, um, well, let's say it has remained the same for the last 40 years. Blech! At least we aren't like this one couple that the realtor has shown 5o homes to....yet.

So bright and early this morning the realtor sent me yet another listing. I think she is really trying to hook us on this one. Again...not GREAT but has possibilities. I have no high hopes for it but will check it out. It is an older home that sits on 2 acres but has been completely renovated and modernized...even has additions made to it. Within city limits yet it looks like a country setting...which means, it has elbow room and privacy but the convenience of city water lines! It HAS a well on the property, too. ANYHOW...another house to look at on Friday. Troy is getting ready to leave again for a couple of days. House viewings now have to be set for Mondays and Fridays and arranged around golf games. sheesh.

I have my final powerpoint presentation to do for my class Wednesday night. It is coming along nicely. What am I doing it on? Backyard wildlife habitats. Should I do it on anything else?

Speaking of which:

Scrawny ON her feeder

Scrawny IN her feeder.

And on a sad note...TJ's hamster Jacques is quickly going down hill. Not sure how much longer he is going to make it. He said once Jacques dies he will not be getting another hamster. He has one more year of HS then be starting college. Perhaps doing some part time semesters the first year, working part time will be best. He wants to go to Full Sail in Florida yet he is rather hesitant. Perhaps his first year close to home, easing into it will be good. His friend Steve is going to a school in Columbus and wants TJ to go too. If there is a school nearby that has classes that TJ can do, it might not be such a bad idea. Columbus is only about an hour away. I know we need to make our minds up soon. He's almost done with his 11th grade year! YIKES!

Cleaning Day

Bethany is STARTING to feel somewhat better. She has the weekend to recover. She had inflammation of her bowels from antibiotics and it caused severe constipation. They pumped ALL kinds of things into her for the past two days. She is just now getting some relief. Poor girl!
This is the same thing that happened to TJ this last Fall.

Today is cleaning day...so pronounced by the King of the Castle. Everyone has something to do. AND when I am done with that, I have a few places to submit my resume to...online.

Tonight is wing night. TJ's friend Steve announced he is coming over and plans on spending the night. The guys are planning their strategy as far as hooking the gaming system up to the internet and doing some serious game playing. They are also taking care of the dinner which is mostly chicken wings done in various sauces.

I made lasagna last night. So, I told everyone that if there are wings left over...tomorrow is left over day....left over lasagna and wings and there is steak from Friday night.

And there it is...nothing exciting. Just life. It is time I get back to my sweeping and dusting and washing and.....

The Search Is STILL On

We have viewed a few homes. One we thought was going to be something was SO NOT...it was just horrid. Then another one we put a bid in on...the sellers countered with...wait for it....................................the original listing price. They didn't budge. Which leads me to believe one of two things: 1)they changed their mind about selling (I heard a rumor that intimated as much); 2)they need every penny they are asking for because they have debts.

I think we shall take up the search in a different part of town...the west end. It may not be the neighborhood Bethany wants to be in BUT it is still a nice neighborhood. There is still busing to school from there. The prices on the homes are slightly less, too.

I got pretty much caught up on my school work...just have a Power Point presentation to work on...but I have 3 weeks to get it done. No big. Gives me lots of time to tweak it. Add the right music, etc.

Troy's nephew Tommy moved in with us. He has been diligently looking for work. He says he likes this area and there's plenty of jobs. It's close to lots of things, too. He hasn't had to worry about laundry...he has a hamper he puts his clothes in and when I am throwing ours in, I just grab stuff out of his and throw in, too.

I think TJ caught the 'Tommy' bug and has been looking for a job, too. To be fair, he was doing that before Tommy got here. There is one place that he seems to REALLY want to work...Buffalo Wild Wings. Not sure what the attraction is...other than the big screens.

Bethany isn't doing too good tonight. I don't understand. First she's hot, then she's cold...she's tired and has vomited. I am hoping she can sleep it off. I think she had a bad reaction to some OTC allergy meds I gave her.

I can now get back to what I started to do before the basement flood and the house hunting...resume fixing and job hunting for myself. Everything will fall into place as it should...when it should. Tomorrow is another day.
