In the Midst of a Storm

It is difficult to believe that I have only been going to that gym for a little over a week! I have used it quite a bit this last week and am feeling so much better already!

There is a terrible storm coming in right now. TJ JUST made it with mowing the lawn. Troy used the weed trimmer and I did some weed pulling. And now we are going to get a nasty storm. Troy was all ready to fire up the grill, too.

We looked at another house yesterday. And while it is just wonderful...so is the price. Not willing to go there. The surrounding houses aren't as nice, either. As the realtor put it...the house we were looking at was 'too aggressive' for the neighborhood. LOL

Not really too much else going on. TJ is getting upset with trying to get a job...most places won't even consider him until he turns 18. Bethany has one more week of summer school. Troy has to do some traveling next week, as usual. He is playing in a golf tournament in Findley, Ohio next Saturday.

Heare is the storm! Later!

Not Flooded

We finally got that family membership to the Rec Center. I went today (Friday) and had one of the attendants show me how to work all the machines and what they are for. The treadmills and elipticals and stair climbers have a box on them that you can bring headphones for and plug in...choose to listen to radio or one of the 15 channels on the 15 TVs. I didn't use any of the cardio machines today, though. I used the weight machines. Warmed up on the rowing machine then stretched myself afterwards.

Bethany has a couple of friends spending the night tonight. Giggle giggle!

TJ is kinda lost...his friend Steven has been changed to 7 days a week on the construction job he is working. They need him to haul and lay cement block. That should be fun. Especially when he doesn't know how long that will be.

We haven't found anymore houses to look at. A few more have gone on the market but they don't have basements OR they are a little more pricey than we are really wanting to have to deal with.

The company Troy works for had to evacuate yesterday because of the flood waters. But Troy was told they are already receding there. His boss had a home by the lake (vacation) and a main home. He said they were okay (sandbagging) but the patio furniture and such was gone bye-bye. There will be a lot of cleaning up ahead.

We are lucky. We have had some nasty thunderstorms blow through but nothing everlasting.

Bethany starts summer school classes Monday. I told her that I would pick her up each day and take her to the gym so she could swim. Me too. And use the track and I can use the equipment too.

Not much else going on. Rather humdrum and quiet. Enjoy it while I can!

Slowing to a Halt

The storms we were suppose to get tonight look like they are going north of us...but we are still in the tornado watch box.

Today was busy for me. Kids everywhere...pick up, drop off, pick up, drop off. Good thing TJ can drive himself...although he wasn't feeling too good. Sore throat...from his allergies. I gave him what I could to help.

It was a VERY hot day. Supposed to be like that for the next few days. Rain tomorrow and the town of Troy is having a Strawberry Festival. Heat and rain. Ick.
Bethany has her last GS outing tomorrow. She went to bed early...got warn out at the city pool with her friends.

We got outbid on the house. We may not get anything until Fall. I am still trying to get a job. TJ got called by the manager at Walmart about coming in and doing another application. I am thinking he will get called back in for an interview soon. He is hopeful. It will give him something to do.

He is behind in his HS credits. Either he will have to take a big load of classes next year to graduate OR he can go an extra year and spread them out. I know he is looking at the embarrassment factor as far as going another year...but, so what? He had a bad first semester this last year...trying to keep him in the JVS when I should have pulled him out when he was getting too sick to handle it. Things happen. It has nothing to do with his brain.

Nothing else going on. Uneventful and boring. Better than too much!

Rain Over Me

A night of storms and 24 hours more of it to go. 3 hail storms so far. My flowers are beat down...the dianthus looks dead. It was so pretty yesterday morning! I am surprised TJ's car has survived. I tried to sleep last night but the storms came in with such high winds even Troy scoured the skies for a tornado!

Our town is flooded. Literally. They closed down 75 north and south coming in because it was flooded. They still had school this morning. I took Bethany and drove through 3 rivers. You could see the water rushing into the storm drains and shooting back up out from under the manhole covers! There was one storm drain near the school that was shooting up like a fountain! I told Bethany to not be surprised if they had tornado drill today. We are under a tornado watch for most of this morning...and extending.

That house we put the bid in on...is just two doors down from one of the flood spots in our road. The flood runs right up the driveway of a tri-level we looked at that was for sale, too. I am wondering what their basements look like. The owners of the one we bid on counter offered and we countered right back last night with our original offer. I'll bet, if they are having water in the basement now, they will jump on our offer. I let our realtor know what is going on here. Not sure what can be done about it.

Time will tell. It has quieted down for a bit. More storms to come...lines of them heading in from Indiana. Yippee.

We filled out the purchase agreement on the house. They have until midnight tonight to respond. I am nervous today anyway becuz of the storms moving in. Severe thunderstorms, hail, tornado watches...yech.

Beth has these 3 days left. TJ has an essay to hand in and 2 tests to take.

Still job hunting. Nothing comes fast or easy, does it?

The Tour of Homes

Last night TJ had some friends over for the night to play video games again. This time it was "Rock Band" and I had to hear that drum and them singing for hours. The drum wasn't really that loud and thankfully the family room is WAY at the other end of the basement from the door. Then they watched some alien movie and yapped really LOUD! How Troy stood it I don't know.

Bethany and her friend Megan went to SPIKES..our church sponsored Saturday night hang out for the teens in town. It is nice that they have some place like that to go that is clean and safe. They play video games or basketball or dodgeball or just play instruments and hang out. There is also a pool table. Then they came home and watched a movie. Troy made nachos and milkshakes. I made brownies.

Today we did a tour of homes. There was a couple of open houses in our neighborhood. We found one we think we like. It is bigger on the inside than it looks from the outside.
